SourceMM Installation

Hey, I bought a server on gameservers and have been messing around with FTP and such to mod it just the way I like it and Im having trouble getting SourceMM to work.
Yes, I have read the FAQ's, and yes, I have read the FAQ's on their site aswell, but, I cant seem to gather enough information to figure out why it doesnt work for me. First, I tried installing the files manually, then I restarted the server and got on, went to my console and typed in meta like it said to do, and it came up with invalid command. Then, I tried the automated installer, restarted my server, went to my cosole and tried meta again and still invalid command came up. Im new to running servers so I might be missing something small. Know of anything Im doing wrong or missing?

(Problaly something with the gameinfo.txt or metaplugins.ini)
But make sure you installed the correct version for your server, if you downloaded the Windows version and you have a Linux server it won't work.
Oh yeah I suggest if you rent the server you just send a support ticket to the hosting company and ask if they can install SourceMM for you.

Did you type it in your console or the server's console ?, because you need to type it on the server's console.

reinstall the complete srcds (or tell your provider that)
i had the same problems on a rented windows machine

Thank you very much guys, I sent in a ticket for them to do it, hopefully they will, ill let you guys know if things work out. Thanks again
