Difference between Zombie Mod and Zombie Horde?

Difference between Zombie Mod and Zombie Horde?

Hey Fellas. I've been playing Zombie Mod for a couple weeks now, but yesterday heard about Zombie Horde. I would always just type in "zm" in my filters and come up with about 16 servers to play on. How do I find servers running Zombie Horde? Is it made by the same team as zombie mod? How long has Zombie Horde been around? What's it like? Thanks.

ZombieMod is a server side modification for Counter-Strike Source. The aim of the game is to conquer the attacking zombies or kill all humans depending on what side of the field you currently are. The game may be played on any map, and users join a server like any other CS:S server without any pre-requisites. The plugin was designed so that it may be run on either Windows or Linux Source Dedicated Servers with a minimal instalation time.

When enabled on default settings, the level is loaded very, very dark with fog all around. All players spawn normally and you cannot hurt anybody; Rifles and the MG are restricted.

After a random amount of time (2-10 seconds), one player is changed into a Zombie complete with model, unable to use any weapon other than the knife, and is given 5,000 health. He is changed to the (T) team and everyone else to the (CT) team to allow for an operational scoreboard. They can also run alot faster than humans, are provided with night vision and have a 125º ‘Field Of Vision’ instead of the regular 90º. His only goal is to infect as many humans as possible by slashing them once with the knife, each scoring him one frag. Each subsequent Zombie is given 2,500 health, moved to the (T) team and also reduced to using their knife only. Zombies are knocked backwards with each shot so their only hope of survival is attacking in numbers. A few well aimed shots to a zombie’s head and it comes off complete with blood spray!

Zombies can only use voice with other zombies, the same goes for humans.

The round ends when either all the Zombies are killed, or all Humans have been turned to zombies.

With a team of dedicated Administrators and Coders we try our hardest to get ontop of Valve updates almost instatly and hopefully in the near future no updating will be required after a Valve Steam Update. Each update is a learning process and we have almost eliminated all update quirks.

Zombie horde is pretty much a bot fight. All you do is fight against bots not other players ;(

There's a lot of differences.

But the only one that matters is:

ZombieMod pwns ZombieHorde x Infinite

I agree. Why not just put bots in a server with knives only and use a pistol.. =|

Bots = No Brains... They don't think like we can so they don't work in team together, ZombieHorde SHUX ^^

i have runned a zombie horde server 32 slots for month
but without bots

that was a cool thing, but the models dont work
and i have switched to zombie mod

Yeah, I was never a fan of zombie horde. My friend loves it and thinks zm is pretty much the worst mod ever. I can see both sides of the story here. He likes to just practice his aim and all that with zh, but I personally find it ungratifying shooting bots to death. It's a lot more intense when you know that the zombies chasing you down are human players, just like you.

As for zm, I can understand people's frustration with the constant camping...but if you think about it in real life, what if a zombie outbreak really occurred? Hell yes, I'd camp my ass off to survive!! Zm is just so much better in my eyes and has huge potential to be fun. It already is, imo.

Now, I think you can set zh to support human players, but I remember the play mechanics being different than zm at the time I played it. Plus what initially attracted me to zm was the ability to set regular cs maps to SUPER dark coloring. That brought a whole freaky element to CS that I never really thought possible. That's why I was so disappointed when the only server I knew of, moongamers, had shut down their zm server for friggin' day of defeat source.

Where am I going with this rambling session? Absolutely nowhere! But...in conclusion zm > zh. :D

xD i cant picture how people would enjoy just running around and killing zombies with 1 shot to the head [no sarcasm] There would be no need to barricade or run away. Rounds would end in seconds.

Camping is fucking fun, trying to survive while a group of zombies are trying to take your barricade down AND getting some kills in the process.

If you dont enjoy camping then youre either in a shitty spot or a spot too good for the game(god spot)

And if tearing down someones barricade and rushing in and stabbing all the humans isnt fun to you, then your server's settings are wack or you should go play zombie horde.

Ive played zombie hord. Basicaly just get somewhere where the bots have a hard time getting to. For example The ledge by the pit in dust2. The ledges on office. You basicaly just spray headshots til you or the zombie die. Some servers have added low grav and stuff to give the zombies a chance.

theres nothing that compare sto ZM imo. Its the only reason i even think about CSS :P
