Help on installing metamod

Post by ssbm360 »

First of all, I couldnt find a forums for the sourcemm website, so im posting here.

Okay, so, I needed to install metamod: source. I dled that and followed all the steps, and edited the gameinfo.txt file, but when i start a server and type "meta" in console, it says "unknown command: meta". I go back to gameinfo.txt, and the line i added to make MM work was deleted! I know that line would make MM run, so how can I stop CS from re-editing it back to the way it was?

I even used the auto installer and tried to run hl2launch.exe in my Cs:S folder, because the documentation said that was the only way to run it, but that wouldnt work either. All it had was a 0 and a _ for typing commands, but it would quit when i pressed enter. How can i fix all this?

Download the gameinfo.txt file to your pc, then change the line for metamod. Then go delete the gameinfo.txt on your server completely, Then upload the gameinfo.txt from your pc to the server. See If that helps you...

Thats because Its a rcon command, If you have mani you would type In console, ma_rcon meta list

Or In HLSW threw the console It would just be meta list. But you wont see It by just typing It In game.

http://wiki.tcwonline.org/index.php/Installing_SourceMM look on this page and look where it says:

If your gameinfo.txt gets rewritten, and your line gets removed, metamod won't run. There are a couple ways to fix this:
