Odd trend, leaving me baffeled?

Post by lex_talionis »

Hey gang,

First some background:

Here are my current zombie win human win overall and some per-map statistics:

http://www.lex.urldownload.com/stats_le ... s&game=css

Granted, some of these maps are not accurate, because of every case when round-ends on cs map or map w/o objective I believe CT's win, which in this case I have stats sense as Humans win...but for the most part since I use zombie_teams, then when CT's win, stats sees it as Humans won and when T's win, stats sees it as Zombies won.

Now, here's the odd part. Ever since version 1.1.2 or the version that came with the zombie health decrement cvars, I've seen a trend of more zombies winning, which is odd, since I did I didn't touch any other cvars.

My current zombie health decrement values:

Code: Select all

// When enabled, after zombie_balancer_player_ratio amount of players are zombies, each additional new zombies health is reduced by this percentage. 0 Disables.
zombie_balancer_health_ratio	10

// The ratio of players whom must be a zombie to start reducing new Zombies health. So when this percentage of the server is a zombie, new zombies health is reduced by the percentage of zombie_balancer_health_ratio.
zombie_balancer_player_ratio	3

// If this is 1, zombie_balancer_player_ratio is the ratio of players who must be zombies before health is decreased. Otherwise, zombie_balancer_player_ratio is the count of Zombies ex:6.
zombie_balancer_type 0

// This is the minimum health you want Zombies to ever end up with while using the balancer.
zombie_balancer_min_health	100
Now, I have increased zombie knock back from 4 to 5 and lowered health on zombiemod.cfg and all per-map.cfg by 100 and lowered zombie speed from 320 to 300. Will all of these adjustments go against zombie abilities; that is, take away power from them? I ask just to make sure that the variable logic is correct.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks,
Lex

I do notice thats most people just aren't playing smart as humans. They don't do correct teamplay and all they do is just run away with 2 maybe 3 others. If they just team up, find a decend spot and hold ground to it things would be better for humans.I also see humans shoot at the same time and if they do that everybody is reloading at the same time. Not everybody is shooting in burst. And offcourse there's always a few that just get to close to the zombie's get hit and zombify thew whole team.

Al those things together make the humans lose most of the time.

Also i noticed that the server settings of soms server's are different than mine.On my server people can use the "use" button to push/pull furniture quite easily. While on other server's it goes with less force and is harder to move it with the "use" button. And for some maps i would like these settings but i don't know these settings.

good points...but for me this is a vis a vie comparison as before and now (all else same)...nothing changed except I added the new version and the zombie decrement health thing and this being said, at minimum, you'd think that zombies would win even less...I'm baffled?

team play and all is certainly true and the use key...yes that's because some server may not have sv_turbophysics on...etc. etc.

but this is like an experiment with a defined hypothesis and general population of players and the fricken experiment turning out very strange.

We have alot of idiots on our server...which makes it where zombies win about every game on every map. We've been trying to counter attack this but it is not to easy.

riddle me this?

what's the difference between zombie_knockback 6 and zombie_knockback 3 ???

Because it seems that the higher the knock-back I got, the more zombies win?

Lex
One of them.

It's possible the humans are shooting zombies into other humans.

Thats odd, with knockback 6 I would imagine one person being able to hold off alot of zombies with little ammo required...

zombies can block for each other, so if a zombie is behind another zombie, knockback doesnt do much (TEAM WORK)
